Single-use endoscopic stone extraction basket for capturing and removing stones and foreign bodies from the bile duct or digestive tract. 1.8mm & 2.4mm outer pipe, 700/1900mm working length, with diamond, ellipse or spiral basket.
PURETH disposable endoscopic stone extraction baskets are used under endoscopy — commonly during ERCP or GI endoscopy — to capture and remove stones and foreign bodies from the bile duct or digestive tract. The basket is advanced past the stone, opened, then withdrawn and closed to enclose the stone securely for retrieval.
Three basket geometries are offered to suit different stones and duct anatomies: diamond (WLA), ellipse (WLB) and spiral (WLC). The smooth, well-structured head opens and closes reliably and can be easily lifted by the elevator. The quantity and shape of the basket wires can also be customized for specific clinical needs.
Key Features
- Easy capture & release — the basket opens and closes smoothly, so stones are quickly enclosed and reliably released when required.
- Resilient, low-deformation wires — good elasticity with a controlled hardness that holds shape after repeated opening.
- Three basket shapes — diamond, ellipse and spiral provide options for stone size, shape and duct anatomy.
- Elevator-friendly head — the well-designed head structure is easily lifted by the duodenoscope elevator.
- Two reach options — 700mm with a 20mm opening and 1900mm with a 30mm opening for different working distances.
- Custom wire configurations — wire quantity and shape can be customized to meet physicians' case-specific needs.
- Sterile, single use — one patient, one device; no cross-infection, no reprocessing.
FAQ
What is the stone extraction basket used for?
It is used under endoscopy to capture and remove stones and foreign bodies from the bile duct or digestive tract, typically during ERCP or GI endoscopy. The basket is opened beyond the stone, pulled back to enclose it, then closed to secure the stone for retrieval.
What is the difference between diamond, ellipse and spiral baskets?
WLA is the diamond shape, WLB is the ellipse shape and WLC is the spiral shape. The shapes differ in opening geometry and grip: the choice depends on stone size, shape and the physician's preference for the specific duct anatomy.
Which diameter and length should I choose?
The 1.8mm outer pipe × 700mm models suit shorter working distances and narrower channels; the 2.4mm × 1900mm models provide a larger 30mm basket opening and the longer reach typical of biliary and GI stone retrieval. Final selection should match the endoscope channel and procedure.
Is the basket single use, and what documents are available?
Yes, it is a single-use device supplied for one patient only, eliminating cross-infection and reprocessing. PURETH products are manufactured under an ISO 13485 quality management system; export documents, free sale certificates and market certificates (such as CE) are provided or confirmed at the order stage. The model prefix selects the basket wire shape:
| Prefix | Basket Shape |
|---|---|
| WLA | Diamond shape |
| WLB | Ellipse shape |
| WLC | Spiral shape |
| Model | Outer Pipe OD (mm) | Working Length (mm) | Basket Opening (mm) | Effective Length (mm) | Basket Shape |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| WLA-1807-20 | 1.8 | 700 | 20 | 40 | Diamond |
| WLA-2419-30 | 2.4 | 1900 | 30 | 60 | Diamond |
| WLB-1807-20 | 1.8 | 700 | 20 | 40 | Ellipse |
| WLB-2419-30 | 2.4 | 1900 | 30 | 60 | Ellipse |
| WLC-1807-20 | 1.8 | 700 | 20 | 40 | Spiral |
| WLC-2419-30 | 2.4 | 1900 | 30 | 60 | Spiral |
Code structure: WL = basket · third letter = wire shape (A = diamond, B = ellipse, C = spiral) · next group = outer pipe diameter ×10 and working length (e.g. 1807 = 1.8mm / 700mm) · final number = basket opening width (mm).
Applications
Endoscopic capture and retrieval of stones across the biliary tree and gastrointestinal tract.
Bile Duct Stones
Capture and remove choledocholithiasis during ERCP; the 1900mm models with a 30mm opening suit biliary stone retrieval via a duodenoscope.
GI Stones & Objects
Retrieve stones and suitable foreign bodies from the digestive tract during gastroscopy, choosing the basket shape that grips the object securely.
Tailored Configurations
Basket wire quantity and shape can be customized for specific stone sizes and duct anatomy to match physicians' case requirements.
